Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. As a young girl of just five and moved to Oxfordshire and attended the Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she realized she wanted to become an actress. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she studied acting as well as singing. By the age of ten she had appeared and played part in many Stagecoach shows and school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was spotted by Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were chosen to play the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first cinematic appearance was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The movie beat all previous records in terms of the opening weekend and sales, and it was the highest-grossing film of 2001. The film was praised by reviewers, and so were the performance of three new actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British paper, called Emma's acting "amazing". Emma received five nominations for her exceptional performance. Then, she was awarded the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of a Film.
